A Quiet Place

Jacquelyn C. Lamban

They seek you out if they hear you.
must maintain stillness in order to be safe
from enigmatic monsters that hunt by
sound. they are aware that even the
smallest whisper or step can result in death.

In a quiet place, close your eyes, take a
deep breath, and go inward. Place your
attention on your heart, in the center of your
chest. Sit quietly and easily let your
attention remain there.

I remember to breathe throughout the day. I
remind myself that I can choose peace, no
matter what is going on around me.
Whenever I desire, I can retreat to that quiet
place within simply by closing my eyes.
A life without a lonely place, that is, without.

But every once in a while, from out of the
blue, someone reaches the quiet place
where you spend your private time and
changes the way you see yourself.

Wisdom grows in quiet places.
If people would only talk about what they
understood, Earth would be a very quiet
place.
