Recompense

I long that the dandelion sings again

melody begotten solely from air.

when will earth’s anthem be devoid of pain?

true blue and green where all is bright and fair

just as when morning and dew come in pair

those bygone days now replaced with landfills

man leaves earth sore from her core with oil spills

she moans in tremor, rain, warming and flood

recompense with burdock and burr his ills

else he shall assuage her burden with blood

The poem was written as a dizain (10 line poem), 10 syllables per line with a rhyme scheme of ababbccdcd.
