Responsibility

Cerilo R. Macasling

We like to blame society
but we are in society
and that’s the issue.

we don’t like to take responsibility
and now our world is full strangers
because of the human behaviors.

and we feel all the tragedies
the melting and rising seas
the forest fire and burning trees.

we just stand inside and look out
but its time to go outside
and breakout.

we give our helping hands to stand up
and our mother Earth glow up
then we leave in peaceful and grow up.

This poem sprouted in the Philippines, in response to “#RewriteCOP: Enhancing implementation, action by non-party stakeholders” by Jenny Mae Albinio in the Philippines.
