We All Could Tell
Gelle Mae Olor

Where are the waters?
Where are the times we could
feel well by the gift of a well
Where are the waters?
Under the buildings do they dwell?
Over them are colored waters that smell.
Where are the waters,
I know we all could tell.
Now is the time for us to ring the bell.
Now we are wishing for wells to be well.

This poem sprouted in the Philippines. The highlighted lines above are from “Where are the waters?”, a meditation on Freshwater, offered by Agam Agenda.

This contribution is from Poets for Climate, a collaborative project among the branches of The Climate Reality Project in the PhilippinesAfrica, and Canada in support of When Is Now. The Agam Agenda, together with mentors from each branch, facilitated virtual Pebble Poem Workshops for Climate Reality Leaders every Thursday from 4 August to 1 September 2022. This is one of the many poems that emerged from the workshops. Read more.
