Broken Cycle
by Marilee Napiri

I prosper.
With all the luxuries of kings. With all the
conveniences in a snap—a flick.
‘What a great life I am in!’

Then, I fear.
Scared today I’ll be swallowed by everything. Terrified
tomorrow’s kids will never have a tree swing. Suddenly,
doom starts seeping in…

But, I hope.
A burning desire to change our ways.
For future children to have their own good place to stay. To
let them dream—prosper without fears, unlike us today.
