About the Mural

This mural sprouted in Johannesburg, South Africa. It depicts a dandelion, found across the grasslands of South Africa: a visual representation of the fragility of life and the power to act on climate change.

It responds to the poem “La raíz del sueño.” by Kütral Vargas Huaiquimilla from Chile.

Contributing muralists are Dionne MacDonald, Ayanda Ogqoyi, Alfredo Gambali, and Bronwyn Krige.

It is located on the corners of Robert and Empress streets in Kensington, Johannesburg.
