Crestfallen

Daphne Johane Lapiña

I saw your wings,

They were burned

I tried to mend every twingeing hole

As I stitch and stitch,

Tears cascade in a sudden waterfall

My dear friends, who shall I call?

How many more of you–

How many more, will I watch die in horror?
