A Drifting Scenery

Krizyl D. Buaya, Jitter R. Bael Jr., Sharah F. Pangasian, Stephanie Mae U. Gomez

The sea is placid, its silence befitting meditation,
The sea breeze hums and whispers a secret Inspiration
As I faze around on the beach with a picturesque Imagination,
Such a fine day to discover a charming destination

As the sun slowly comes
I wonder how this beautiful scenery becomes.
Dark blue waves are rolling around
Hitting the walls of Dumaguete’s ground

Despite the beautiful scenery given like a “queen”
There’s always a threat In between,
As the waves’ tranquil sound turns into cries
life beneath are harmed and slowly dies

Plastic bottles, straws, and styrofoams are drifting,
An island of trash is forming
Should we allow and keep it from growing?
Or STOP it for what it is becoming?

Wake upl And open your eyes young man
Before this beautiful scenery will be gone.
Do all you can to bring back the beauty in our land
The seas are dying and they desperately need a helping hand.
