Awaken

Mae An Charyce Pearl Manolong

I vowed my
faithfulness to my
beloved land,
To adore with your
mysterious presence
since the day I come.

As a rising sun
bright to light the
world,
It is a pleasure of
existence here, I am.

As I entered the
world without
nothing, you lifted
me up to rebuild my
emptiness,

In my barefoot land,
you were my shoe,
you are my
listener when
burdens spilled
coming through.

As the days went by,
changes spreading
around,
Several creatures
have never seen in
touch,
No one recognized
how hurt you are
where climate
change starts.

Storms come, panic
attack
people don’t realize
it starts by their
hands,
Pollution excels,
Danger becomes
stronger,
Mother Earth is
dying. Nowhere,
promises always
forgotten.

Each time paradise
proclaims its
rights,
please give them
light to calm, and
As the rain falls down,
A rainbow will shine
On humans, to
preserve the land.
