In My Mind

Khasmira Tuankali

You create a better world,
That somebody can reach and hold
A better us to mold
Something mine, not somebody told
As we get older, may I be bold

You longed for better
Not knowing that you either
Wear the sweater or be a bearer
Of something gentler and nicer
Where no one lends an offer

Let me rise from my scarcity
I lack the empathy
For I am so lonely
Of the things they try
To make the crowds cry

Hunger and numbness
I feel that in an embrace
Of loud pretense
Of laughter’s in greys
You can trace the emptiness

Beyond my will
I get to experience the twirl
Of madness in a fickle
Of time, they tickle
The sore cripple

Of my heart who bleeds
Principles, not in my halls
Others, they tend your calls
Still, I live in my bubbles
Unable to untie the ropes.
