The Cry of the Earth

Aillen Paradero Pamatong

The cry of the earth echoes loud and clear,
A plea for us to listen and to hear
The warning signs that nature sends our way,
As climate change unfolds day by day.

The melting ice, the rising sea,
The changing winds that used to be,
The wildfires that rage with deadly force,
The floods and storms that wreak havoc of course.

We’ve come so far, we’ve built so much,
But at what cost, have we lost touch,
With the balance of nature and the planet we share,
With the creatures and landscapes that are so rare.

The time has come to take a stand,
To heal the earth, to lend a hand,
To make the changes that we need to make,
To give our children a future they can take.

It’s not too late, we still have time,
To turn the tide, to make things right.
To live in harmony with the earth and each other,
To honor the sacredness of our mother.

Let us rise up and take the lead.
To plant the seeds of a new world creed,
To live with love and respect for all life,
To end the era of environmental strife.

For the cry of the earth will never cease,
Until we learn to live in peace,
With each other and the planet we call home,
Until the cry of the earth becomes a song.
